The Cleveland Cavaliers have clawed their way back to .500, mostly because of increased offensive efforts by the starting lineup. Though the defense isn’t quite where it needs to be just yet, it’ll most likely come along with time as the players get used to their defensive rotations and sets. Roles on the team are still being established as well. Coach David Blatt had struggled with the rotation at first but as the season continues to progress, he’s beginning to get more comfortable using the depth of the bench to his advantage. Three point specialists like Mike Miller and Joe Harris have been on the court more, which has helped ignite the scoring while the starters rest in the second period. Though we are only a small fraction of the way through our 82-game journey, the Cavs have tonight off, which makes now a great time to dish out early season report cards for our key rotational players.
